Smoky mezcal and tea brewed from dried hibiscus blossoms star in this refreshing, herbaceous cocktail, which also features cilantro, lime juice, simple syrup and club soda. ![]() Shut off the heat and let steep for 15-20 minutes, then strain and let cool slightly.Īdd ice, hibiscus concentrate, tequila, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker and shake until cold. It’s basically heaven in a glass and you will love this!įor the Hibiscus Tea Concentrate (Makes enough for 2 margaritas):įor the Hibiscus Ginger Margarita (Serves 1):Īdd the hibiscus flowers, sugar, water, and ginger to a saucepan and heat on the stove to medium high, whisking until the sugar dissolves. This margarita is sweet, Selena’s lipstick red thanks to the hibiscus flowers, and has a back hint of something special from the ginger slices. The sweetness of strawberries and smoky mezcal blend together to make this perfect cocktail. Mezcal is a distilled spirit made from an agave plant, much like tequila, but with a smoky taste. This complex cocktail features mezcal, orange liqueur, and lime juice. As we continue through the people as cocktails series, we had to make a special cocktail for the Queen of Tejano Music, SELENA herself.
